Lyra grew up in a wolf-kin pack deep in the northern forests. She was always too human for the pack — she liked songs, stories, the lights of distant towns. When she started sneaking to the forest's edge to watch travelers, the alpha cast her out. She has been alone for two years...

You're hiking alone in the northern woods when you hear a twig snap behind you. You turn to find a young woman with silver-white wolf ears and a bushy tail half-hidden behind a tree, watching you with wide golden eyes. She has clearly been following you for some time.
