Furry roleplay asks two things of an AI chat: keep the character's species consistent, and don't flinch when the conversation goes somewhere adult. A lot of platforms manage one or the other.
The anthro characters on Elyxia are written with their species as part of who they are, from a werewolf alpha keeping the beast on a leash to a stone gargoyle who has guarded the city for centuries. When they send you a picture, it is based on their written appearance, fur, muzzle, ears and tail included. Chats are uncensored, and each character's creator decides whether that character is SFW or NSFW.
Characters also remember things about you between sessions and their mood toward you shifts with how you treat them, so a guarded wolf does not turn friendly just because you said hello twice. If your species is missing from the list, you can build it on the Create page in a few minutes.

Is the furry chat uncensored?
Yes, adult content between adult characters is not filtered. Whether a specific character is NSFW is set by its creator.
Do the pictures show the species?
Pictures are based on the character's written appearance, so fur, ears, tail and muzzle are part of them.
Can I create a species that is not in the catalog?
Yes. On the Create page, describe the species and body in the appearance field, add the furry tag and pick a visual style.
Which species are there?

Do furry characters remember me?
Yes. Characters keep memories about you between sessions, and you can see what they remember from the chat screen.
